چکیده
Materials and methods Forth three scoliosis patients (12 males, 31 females) were enrolled in this study. Mean age was 10.3 years (range 615). Mean Radiographic Cobb angle before treatment was 37.2°. All the patients were investigated before bracing with "Spinal Mouse" in convex side bending position. After three months of bracing we assessed the radiographic Cobb angle and defined a correlation between the spinal correction in the brace and the results of the "Spinal Mouse" test.

Estimation of the stress related to conservative scoliosis therapy: an analysis based on BSSQ questionnaires
BACKGROUND Adolescent girls treated with a brace for scoliosis are submitted to prolonged stress related to both the disease and the therapy. Currently proposed quality of life questionnaires are focused on the outcome of therapy. Bad Sobernheim Stress Questionnaire (BSSQ) enables monitoring of patients being under treatment with a brace or exercises. The aim of the study was to assess the stre...

Objective: Deformity of spine is considered as any abnormality of the shape and alignment of the vertebral column which is commonly involve adolescent, idiopathically. The deformity requires prompt attention because it can reduce person’s quality of life (QOL). World health organization (WHO) describes the quality of life in various domains in life like personal and social well-being. A specifi...
متن کاملFusionless Correction of Moderate Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis with a New Minimally Invasive Dynamic Implant (ApiFix®) and Postoperative Schroth Scoliosis Specific Exercises-Case Series
The standard surgical management of AIS is spinal fusion. Nonfusion solutions for addressing moderate AIS curves are desirable. ApiFix® is a new posterior dynamic device consisting of an expandable ratcheting rod anchored by two pedicle screws to the concave side of the scoliotic spine. It was designed to address single, moderate Lenke type 1 or 5 curves. Surgery is performed without the additi...
متن کاملCurve progression 25 years after bracing for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: long term comparative results between two matched groups of 18 versus 23 hours daily bracing
BACKGROUND Scoliotic curves do not necessarily stop progressing at skeletal maturity. The factors that influence curve behavior following bracing are not fully determined. Our objectives were to evaluate the loss of the scoliotic curve correction in a cohort of patients treated with bracing during adolescence and to compare the outcomes of 18 versus 23 h of bracing at a mean of 25 years post br...

Methods Consecutive case control pilot study, with radiological results in coronal and sagittal curves, and scores for overall-satisfaction with TLI after one year of wearing. 91 consecutive children with scoliotic ( one curve >25o) and kyphotic spinal deformities during growth, wearing a lordotic brace at least a full year. Measurements of Cobb angles on AP and sagittal standing X-ray’s were c...
